A
musician since the age of three, and a professional songwriter since
the age of 15, Gardner Cole has been creating pop masterpieces throughout
his incredible career, including Madonna’s #1 hit "Open Your
Heart" and 3 hits for Jody Watley: "Everything", "Most
of All" and "Best Of Me". All told, over 125 of his songs
have been recorded worldwide on albums that have sold over 35 million
copies.
Cole was signed as a staff songwriter for Warner-Chappell Music in
Los Angeles for 14 years, and has written for the likes of Tina Turner,
Amy Grant, Al Jarreau, Michael Mcdonald, El Debarge and Tom Jones. He
has also contributed songs to such films as "Grand Canyon",
"The Fugitive", and "French Kiss.” He has also
provided the score to numerous feature films.
A master at a number of musical instruments, Cole performed with the
hit group A-Ha as keyboardist (including performing the #1 song "Take
On Me" on the 1987 Grammy Awards Show,) and performed with the
hit group ABC as drummer. Gardner also released two critically acclaimed
pop albums as a vocalist for Warner Brothers Records. With his six BillBoard
charting singles, BillBoard Magazine named Gardner the #2 songwriter
in 1988.
Cole maintains an extensive collection of musical instruments from
around the world, and is also a passionate music lover. His rare, vinyl
record collection numbers over 10,000 LP's.
